About

It was launched by Britta Kremke – founder and long-standing owner of several yarn brands such as Kremke Soul Wool and BC Garn. The trigger was a conversation that touched her deeply: a close friend was no longer able to move her left arm after a brain operation and had lost some of her mobility and therefore a great deal of her zest for life.

KnitAgain was born out of a very personal moment.

Together, they looked for a way to bring light back into everyday life. And as is so often the case in life, the path led to something very simple and yet so meaningful: handicrafts.
They talked about what knitting and crocheting can mean – comfort, expression, creativity, belonging – and what opportunities there are to continue being creative despite physical limitations.

During this search, Britta realized how important needlework is in her own life. And that many people – through illness, accident or simply getting older – run the risk of no longer being able to pursue this beloved hobby at some point.

But when she tried to find information, tools, techniques, exchanges or instructions for knitters with disabilities, it quickly became clear:
There is no central location. No community. No collection of knowledge that could support, comfort or inspire.

This gap – and a lot of heart – gave rise to the idea for KnitaGain.
A place where people with disabilities can find new ways to stay creative.
A place that encourages.
A place that shows: Sometimes something beautiful begins exactly when something difficult happens.

On KnitaGain you will find experience reports, practical help, ergonomic solutions and adapted techniques that can make knitting easier for you.
And you will find people who understand you. People who support, inspire and motivate each other. A community that says: “We’ll keep going. In our own way.”

Because knitting is more than just a hobby.
It’s a feeling.
A home.
A space that doesn’t close just because something in life has changed.

You are welcome here – with every ability, every pace, every limitation.
Come back to knitting.
Back to your creativity.
Back to you.
