Bad-weather walk Laveno-Mombello
If there isn’t much time for a long hike, we have chosen a bad weather walk in Laveno-Mombello. The good thing is that you can park very easily at both the starting point and the end point, the path is asphalted and there is no incline at all.
When you park in Laveno-Mombello, simply walk along the river on the right. At first you walk behind some industrial buildings, but gradually it becomes greener and greener and really beautiful. The river babbles on the left and the corn sways in the wind on the right. From time to time you can hear a car or even a train passing by behind the trees on the other bank of the river. If you’re lucky, a paraglider will float in above you and land on the designated landing area right next to this walkway.
In between, your furry friend can take a refreshment in the river.
Our Colja particularly likes the path because he doesn’t like steep paths and cobblestones. The path ends at the Dog Park Sti in Cittiglio. This is a small fenced-in dog play area. However, we haven’t met any other dogs here yet.
Beware, the path is also used by cyclists and they are sometimes quite fast. Of course, your dog must be kept on a lead on this path. I have marked the path, the dog meadow and the parking facilities on the Cittiglio dog meadow map.

And please don’t forget to use the poop bag – even if you feel unobserved. The fact that dogs are still welcome everywhere around Lake Maggiore is also due to the fact that you see practically no droppings. It should stay that way!
