Boat lines on Lake Maggiore

By car

The only official car ferry on Lake Maggiore is the one from Laveno-Mombello to Intra-Verbania. It departs every 20 minutes and the crossing takes about the same time. Don’t miss the chance to get off, go up to the top deck and enjoy this spectacular experience. The lake, the beautiful shores, the snow-covered mountain peaks – the crossing is a pleasure at any time of year, provided you have a Jack with you.

A one-way ticket without a vehicle currently costs 6.80 EURO per person. The price for vehicles depends on the length of the vehicle. The ticket seller will then ask you for the type of car.

You can find the exact departure times and ports of all ferries as well as the prices here.

From the ferry port in Laveno Mombello, it takes less than 2 minutes to get to the train station, from where you can change once to Milan Malpensa Airport or directly to the city center.

Here you can find the timetables and buy a ticket right away. If you understand Italian.

With the many pedestrian ferries on the lake, you can make a wonderful one-day round trip, getting off once in between and getting on the next boat… Some ferries also stop at one of the Borromean Islands, so you don’t need to take an expensive lake cab.
