The painter Gerhard Reinisch

Reinisch was already working as a freelancer in the GDR and could afford to turn down commissions from time to time. In addition to paintings for public buildings, he also created murals, including painting the entire gable of a high-rise building in Schwerin’s Dreesch district.

After reunification, he undertook various long-distance trips with his travel-loving wife, during which he created exotic motifs in his typical, expressionist-cubist style of painting. Click here for his biography: https://lnkd.in/eWanVyRq

However, I am particularly interested in his North German motifs, some of which I will gradually introduce. All works are available for purchase.

Reinisch created the exciting painting shown here (84 x 100 cm) “Schweißerbrigade Neptunwerft Stralsund” in the 1980s – a typical representative of Socialist Realism that is rarely found today.
